PWB Sales History
Origins and Background
From 1988 through 2000, Saturn Electronics Corporation increased sales at an average annual rate of 25% year-over-year.
In 2001, the North American PCB fabrication industry experienced a massive fallout. 75% of sales volume moved to China; while over 50% of fabrication capacity shut down altogether (click here to learn more about The Reshore Initiative).
Exacerbating this sudden shift to Chinese outsourcing and offshore brokers was our dependence upon Automotive production, which accounted for 90% of our sales. During a two-week period at the end of 2001, we lost 50% of our total sales due to the one-two punch of losing our Chrysler power distribution program and then our GM automatic dimming mirror program. Despite this shock, we survived 2002 and also increased sales to other customers and industries.
Transformation to Diversified Supplier
Since then we have continued our technology capabilities to further grow our sales and account base. As a result, we now service a wide variety of customers with needs varying from five piece quick-turn prototypes to high-volume production.
Furthermore, our diverse customers’ require not only technological needs ranging from medium to fine line technology but also delivery requirements ranging from one day to three weeks.
We have provided solutions for the following industries:
